Aahh, the sun is in the sky, the exams are almost over and you've got a long summer ahead of you to think about how you can have an even better student society next year, but what are you going to do in the next few weeks?
Why don't you improve your leadership skills and learn about the skills you need to run a small business. I know you're probably thinking what the heck are you contacting me for, I'm not running a business but you are really. Think about it, the SRC, student media, unions, clubs and societies - they're all businesses - you've arranging meetings, weekend trips, pub crawls, you've got people helping you and most importantly you've got a bunch of students expecting you to do things for them - it doesn't matter that you're not out screwing people for cash like most businesses.
You might already be creative and innovative but why not be even better. We're running a week long course from the 7th - 11th June covering areas like motivating staff, generating ideas, how to market and sell yourself and how to prepare a pitch. It's free, you get a lunch on the Friday and you get a change to pitch an idea - it could be some new initiative, it could be something daft, either way you've got a chance to win £500 prize money and you can even keep it for yourself.
If you either want to improve the society or the legendary Cloudo's right and the only hing your fightin tae improve is yer ain CV this can help you.
