The SRC Executive Elections take place on Tuesday 20th April.
My name is Andrew Forsyth and I am standing for Vice-President (Activities and Development). This is a new post which takes on the Clubs and Societies responsibility from the current Senior Vice-President role.
My vision for Clubs and Societies is one where the SRC offers help and encouragement without hampering groups with paperwork and red-tape.
I had the pleasure of attending (and speaking at) a debate jointly hosted by the Hindu Society.
(My full manifesto is below).
I hope you will take a look at the Manifestos for VP (Activities and Development) and will urge your members to vote on Tuesday 20th.
Thanking you in advance,
Andrew Forsyth

“The SRC works best when providing services that benefit students.”
Elect me as the first Vice President (Activities and Development) and I’ll fulfil that vision.
I have the necessary leadership experience, both on and off the SRC, to ensure continuity of services alongside much needed improvement and change.
Clubs and Societies Support
To promote and improve this service, I would:
simplify paperwork and procedures offer training to Office-bearers create a clear, branded, identity for Clubs and Societies Support increase awareness, through publicity, of what the SRC provides
Freshers’ Week
To provide value to students, I would:
investigate the cost of the Freshers’ Pass properly publicise Freshers’ Week opportunities available to all students (e.g. being an SRC Freshers’ Helper)
To prevent repeating last year’s problems, I would: support GUSA, GUU, QM in their activities pressure the University to fulfil its administrative obligations strongly publicise the Freshers’ Pass
To bring a successful and integrated week, I would:
concentrate on providing high-quality SRC events ensure full cross-campus co-ordination while not impeding other organisations encourage involvement by Freshers from non-traditional backgrounds by broadening the range of SRC orientation events
Student Development To assist students in increasing skills and employability, I would:
publish a handbook listing opportunities within the University, and in the voluntary and commercial sectors develop the internship fair increase recruitment of Student Community Action volunteers through publicity that emphasises volunteering as work experience work with the Careers Service, including seeking sponsorship of development activities campaign to ensure non-academic activities are properly recognised
The best quality services

My name is John Andrew Murray and on Tuesday I'm standing for SRC President. Central to my campaign is the fight against any rise in the graduate endowment or any increases in fees for non-Scottish students. I won't bore you with a long message however if you're interested you can find out what I stand for at www.votejam.co.uk.
