Dear all,Another instalment of the weekly Friday Movie Night is ready to be viewed on this Friday, 14th November 2003. The feature of this week is a bittersweet drama-thriller called Theen Deewarein (3 walls). This movie is starring Naseeruddin Shah, Jackie Shroff, Juhi Chawla, Nagesh Kukunoor and Gulshan Grover. It is a story of three men who become friends while in prison on death row.So, come along and catch this Bollywood Blockbuster this Friday evening at 6pm in Boyd Orr LT B (level 4). Tickets are priced at 50p for members and 1 pound for non-members. Bring your friends along and enjoy your evening with all of us in GUICS! Dear all,

Welcome you all to GUICS once again. On this occasion we would like to have
a welcome get-together to all the members on Wednesday November 19, 2003.
Its going to be a gala night with delicious Indian food, games, music and
fun. The tickets are priced @ ?5.50. It?s going to be a fun filled night.
Its time to know more about your friends. Come there and enjoy and have fun.

Same place, same time...i.e at the Boyd Orr Lecture Theatre B, level 4, at 6
Pm sharp.

This is about going to the Bombay Cinema to watch Kal Ho Na Ho..this Friday evening 29th of November. The show is at 8pm so we shall be meeting outside Hillhead Underground at 7pm sharp. Many of you have replied showing an interest...so hope to see you and your friends there. Any change of plan...we will let you know via e mail.
 
Since there may not be sub titles for this Hindi Film we will be showing a Tamil film this Friday in Boyd Orr LT B instead. We have a few options (VCDs of Anbe Sivam, Boys, Azhagi, Thulluvatho Ilamai, etc), if any of you have any video cassette or VCDs of Tamil movies you want to watch, feel free to bring them along.For more information email guics@hotmail.com

Hi All,
As promised we are screening another box office hit this weekend. The movie is called "Ek Haseena Thee", staring - Urmila Matondkar and Saif Ali Khan its an intense romance, thriller drama. It will be fun if all of you can come along with your friends to watch this movie and relax.

Time: 18:00hrs
 
As we need to arrange for the place for our next movies we request you people to send in your request for the movies you wish to watch and it would be very glad of you if you could confirm your numbers so that we can arrange for things.

Soccer Fiesta 2004!!!!

Dear ICS members,


The Glasgow University Indian Cultural Society(GU ICS) is proud to present to you Soccer Fiesta 2004! Details for the event are as follows:




Venue:Kelvin Hall Building

Date:  20/03/04

Time:  1400hrs-16.30hrs


What to expect in the event..


Basically,there will be 8 teams separated out into two groups of four each.They will battle out with each other and the best two teams will battle out for the First place. Details regarding the rules and regulations for the event will be posted out later to the 8 teams participating in the event.Trophies will be awarded to the Champions and Runner up teams. Refreshmnets will be provided during the event as well.


Maximum number of teams allowed




Maximum Number of teams allowed to participate in the event has been restricted to 8 teams.The constraint to 8 teams is due to space limitation of the street soccer court and the time constraint of the booking of the court. Hence,teams will gain qualification in the tournament on a first come first serve basis. Once all the 8 entries have been filled up, no other applications will be considered. So,those SOCCER FANATICS out there,ACT FAST,while theres still a chance!




How To Apply for the Event



Well,its simple and easy! Just get a team of five and send in their names and their contact numbers to GU ICS email address.The email address is guics@hotmail.com. Do not forget to mention the Captain of the team and also name ur team!


And the Cost for the event?



15 pounds per team (3 pounds per person)

Dear GUICS members,

We are very pleased with the number of you who were keen to attend Curry Nite
this year. However since many of you had exams on Friday, 19th March, we have
decided to hold the Curry Nite on 15th of April which would hopefully be a
better date for all of you. Same time, same place. 7.00pm at Creme de la Creme
in Argyle Street. We have negotiated with the restaurant to keep the discounted
price of 9 pounds for members and 10 pounds for non-members for eat-all-you-can
buffet.

We are looking forward to meeting all of you after the Easter break. For those
who have exams, best of luck! Do let us know how many tickets you would like for
you and your friends before they are sold out!
